Title : Convenient Facilities To Be Augmented Significantly by Year 2006 Issue : JUN 2001, Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 9th of last month that it plans to install lift facilities, including 266 elevators, 411 escalators, and 120 wheelchair lifts, in subway lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8 by year 2006. 27 transfer stations, including City Hall Station and Dongdaemun Sports Stadium Station, where a lot of passengers pass through, will receive the attention first, getting 32 elevators and 40 escalators. The remaining 36 transfer stations will also be equipped with 68 elevators, 163 escalators, and 53 wheelchair lifts by the end of next year.■ |
