LG.OTIS targets 250 Gen2 sales in 2001
LG.OTIS(www.otis.co.kr) addressed that Gen2 shall be launched in Korean market this year. Gen2 elevator system is the latest machine-room-less product range developed from OTIS. The Gen2 system introduced flat belt to lift the elevator car, which is the most advanced technology application. "The Gen2 elevator system is the strategic product range to meet the passenger safety. The Gen2 elevator system achieved its market success to meet customer needs for all product range covering office and residential buildings." said LG.OTIS. LG.OTIS also introduced DI elevator system for office building, SIGMA elevator system for residential, and Home elevators for low rise residential. SIGMA escalator system is ready to be intorduced in Korean market likely on June 2001. The target sales of Gen2 elevator system this year is 250 units. The Gen2 elevator system would be passed in Authority type test with Hyundai and DongYang elevators the potential machine-room-less supplier in Korea. LG.OTIS expects to reach U$100million for overseas market. They are planning to penetrate into the market in Russia and South America. They are proud of their success in overseas marketing last year as a result of customer frendly marketing strategy covering design to interior requirement. Although the China market is large enough, it is hardly to enter due to the major market leader-OTIS, Schindler, KONE, and Mitsubishi took the significant market share. Dalian factory in China has already met the BEP last 1999. This is the most successful case in China as a new entrant before. The SIGMA and DI(Distri-buted Inverter) elevator system will be introduced in China market soon. A promotional conference in China is planned for Chinese construction companies and government authority. |
