OTIS Elevator Korea surpasses 100,000 elevator maintenance for the first time in Korea
Otis Elevator Korea
Korea's first elevator maintenance exceeds 100,000 units
Airline and hotel benchmarking, 'service above all else' to impress customers

2013/01

Otis Elevator Korea (CEO and President Kenneth Mahler, www.otis.co.kr) has become the first elevator company in Korea to exceed 100,000 elevator maintenance units.
The total number of elevators installed in Korea is approximately 460,000 (as of September 2012), which means that Otis maintains one in five elevators. The global figure is also remarkable. Today, OTIS manages approximately 1.8 million elevators in more than 200 countries worldwide.
"Good maintenance is just as important as good new installations, as elevators require ongoing care by trained professionals to maintain their performance and safety," said Kenneth Mahler, President of Otis. "Our world-class safety systems and service attention to detail are the key to our success in ensuring customer satisfaction."
As the world's No. 1 elevator specialist, OTIS's No. 1 management philosophy is "All Safe," which considers not only the safety of its employees but also the safety of its customers.
Having been the world's No. 1 elevator manufacturer for nearly 160 years since its founding in 1853, Otis' safety systems have a reputation for being among the best in the world, not only in the elevator industry but also in other industries, according to the company. In addition, Otis has been continuously strengthening its customer service by declaring "Service Excellence" in 2004, benchmarked against the customer service of hotels and airlines, to ensure customer satisfaction.
Otis Elevator Korea has opened a service information center (OTISLINE) and an elevator exhibition center (Otis Elevator Plaza) in Korea and is currently operating on a large scale. Otis Elevator Korea is also making various efforts to exceed customer expectations, including the launch of Elite, an advanced remote control service that can detect elevators in real time 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and prevent accidents in advance.
"Our customers trust and rely on Otis Elevator," said Kenneth Mahler, President of Otis Elevator, "and this milestone will serve as an impetus for us to provide even better service to our customers."
Otis Elevator was awarded the Four-Year Continuity Award in the Safety Management category at the Global Standard Management Awards on Oct. 30, and previously won the Grand Prize in the Elevator category at the 2012 Customer Satisfaction Brand Awards on Sept. 26.
