Hyundai Elevator Hyundai Elevator wins order for 360m/min ultra-high speed elevator for Rutai Center in China The contract was won against high competition...accelerating the company's expansion into the global market 2012/06 Hyundai Elevator (CEO Han Sang-ho) announced on June 2 that it was the first Korean company to win an order for an ultra-high speed elevator in China. The order is for the Rutai Center to be built in Shijiazhuang, the provincial capital of Hebei, China. A total of 10 high-speed elevators will be installed there, including four 360-meter per minute elevators, four 210-meter per minute elevators, and two 180-meter per minute elevators. Scheduled for completion in October 2013, Rutai Center is located in the core commercial area of Zhongshan Road in Shijiazhuang, the political, economic, and cultural center of Hebei Province, and is a large complex comprising four buildings with a total construction area of 620,000 square meters, including a five-star hotel, a large shopping mall, various cultural facilities, offices, and luxury apartments. The new high-speed elevator will be installed in a 29-story, 179.8-meter-high high-end office building, and will feature two 180-meter-per-minute elevators with touchless buttons, along with HELIAS, a reservation system for the next floor, and e-NOS G, an eco-friendly green elevator. The HELIAS model is a technology suitable for high-rise buildings with a large number of passengers, as it enables optimal elevator boarding by analyzing the number of passengers and the departure and arrival floors, reducing boarding time and waiting time, and encouraging passengers on the same floor to board together, resulting in excellent transportation efficiency and energy use reduction. Han Sang-ho, CEO of Hyundai Elevator, said, "This order is of great significance not only because it is the first domestic elevator company to win an order for an ultra-high speed elevator in China, but also because we won the order through fierce competition from global companies in China, the world's largest elevator market." "We will further accelerate our efforts to capture the global market based on our high level of technology." Meanwhile, Hyundai Elevator has a track record of winning orders for ultra-high-speed elevators, including the Government Complex of Venezuela (56 floors, 480 mph) last year, Songdo I Tower in Incheon (33 floors, 360 mph), Park Hyatt Hotel in Busan (33 floors, 360 mph), and Busan International Financial Center (63 floors, 540 mph). |
